Mrs. Alexander’s baking class just had their final project, which is a competition that they call “cake boss.” The class bakes a cake and decorates it based off of inspiration from popular children’s books. Valentine’s Day has been celebrated since the middle ages. It was brought to America by British settlers in the 19th century. Since then, it has evolved immensely. However, the basic ideals of the holiday remain the same, such as exchanging gifts and handing out cards to show your appreciation for others. After doing some research on the holiday, it seems the types of gifts and styles of cards, along with the style of dates people go on, are the main differences in the holiday through the years. The girls have battled injuries and adversity, but have stayed determined to keep pushing and make the playoffs.
