Taking your First Step into Hiking

     Hiking can be an intimidating hobby to start, however, it can be a very important part of a healthy lifestyle. Hiking is a great way to begin being more active, or, for athletes, hiking can be helpful for recovery after a workout. It’s a good way to stretch out and prevent strain injuries. It can also be helpful in maintaining mental health, as a good hike can help clear your mind and introduce you to new things and places.

The Teacher Spotlight Shines  on Mrs. Ludwig

     Most of you may know Mrs. Ludwig as one of the best English teachers here at Eisenhower. Mrs. Ludwig has been working at Eisenhower for several years. Throughout the years, Mrs. Ludwig has taught many different grade levels, and this year is no exception. She is currently teaching mostly grades 9 and 10 and as one of her students, I personally think that she is an amazing teacher.

Blooming into the Spring Season

     Between Covid and the long winter we had this year, adding some color to your spring season will truly brighten up your day! The Squire interviewed high school science teacher, Mrs. Swanson, to find out her input on spring planting and gardening. When asked about her favorite thing to plant in her garden, Swanson stated, “I love to plant perennials which come up every year.  I have lilies and peonies, which are amazing.”  She has had four flowerbeds for more than 40 years. She also stated that she plants Geraniums and, “…bright flowers like Marigolds and Dahlias.” She also added that she likes to think of the plants she maintains as her children because she loves to take care of them and keep them safe while they grow.
