Dreaming of Prom

By: Christine Kuzminski

Now that Easter break is over and we are into the fourth marking period, the end of the year events are just around the corner. Aside from graduation and baccalaureate, prom is something that many upperclassmen look forward to.

This year’s prom is being held later than usual. Instead of being in May, it will be on June fourth at the Willow Bay Theater. The Willow Bay Theater is located at 21 E 3rd St Jamestown, NY 14701. Prom was held there last year and many were impressed with the character of the location. Also, it is located very close to many restaurants perfect for dinner before dancing the night away. The fun and dancing will start at seven o’clock. The theme this year is A Midsummer Knight’s Dream.

The Squire interviewed senior, Megan Lupole, about Prom and what she is most excited for:

TS: What part of prom are you most excited for?

ML: Dancing and riding in the limo with my friends.

TS: Do you have a dress yet?

ML: Yes! I got a dress right away.

TS: Do you like this year’s theme?

ML: I don’t really understand it, but I’m sure they can make it work.

TS: How do you feel about prom being so late this year?

ML: I like a late prom – like one last hurrah.

TS: What are you expecting it to look and be like?

ML: I honestly have no clue.

TS: Do you like the location of prom?

ML: I love where prom is! It’s such a unique place!

As you can see, our upperclassmen are already looking forward to prom and are preparing themselves by finding the perfect outfit and date. Prom is likely something that you’ll remember about your high school experience for the rest of your life. It’s important to make sure you know when and where it is so that you can be excited and prepared for the big day. That way when it comes, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy your ‘one last hurrah!’
