If you’re interested in inexpensive ways to spend your sunny days, you don’t need to look any further. Some of the locals’ favorite places include Chapmans State Park, The Kinzua Bridge, The Kinzua Dam, Kinzua Beach and Picnic Area, Rimrock, and Jake’s Rocks.

Chapman State Park and Kinzua Beach and Picnic Area both include family friendly beaches. Whether you enjoy lounging on the beach or cooling off at the dam, these destinations will not disappoint you. If you’re looking to spend the whole day outside enjoying nature, the Allegheny National Forest is the ideal location. Start your day at the Kinzua Dam followed by a hike through Rimrock or Jake’s Rocks. You’ll fall in love with the beauty of the forest and the massive rocks that have been there for hundreds of years. Once you’re there you won’t want to leave so, don’t forget to bring a lunch! Not only do they offer hiking trails but you can also camp, canoe, fish, and boat in and along the Allegheny National Forest.

A short three hour road trip can take you to even more breathtaking areas. A great way to spend the day outside would be a drive to Watkins Glen. Watkins Glen is a beautiful series of trails that loop through beautiful waterfalls and a stream that follows along with the trail. If you haven’t been there you must go. It is a memory that will last a lifetime! On your way home from Watkins Glen you can make a quick stop at Letchworth State Park. This park is full of beautiful waterfalls that you can practically drive your car right to.
