     Welcomed to Eisenhower this year, Mrs. Lobdell shared her teaching experience with The Squire for this issue’s Teacher Spotlight. Just in her first year at the school, she is already involved with student activities, being the junior class advisor. Mrs. Lobdell has managed to create many relationships with her students and co-workers so far, but The Squire wanted to introduce her to rest of the school. We asked her a few questions about her career and pastime activities to help everyone at Eisenhower get to know her a little better.

The Spotlight Opens up on Senior Sydney Cronmiller

     Eisenhower High School is full of many talented and wonderful people, giving The Squire countless options to choose a special student for the Student Spotlight. This winter, the chosen student is senior Sydney Cronmiller. As a student athlete, who is on the cross country and track teams, Sydney is very involved in our school. She is active in many other activities both inside and outside of school. Sydney is a determined student who works hard for the grades she has. The Squire asked Sydney some questions to get to know more about her and her plans after high school.

Shining a Light on Seasonal Depression

     When the days get shorter, and the nights get longer, many people experience something called seasonal depression. Seasonal depression, also known as Seasonal Affective Disorder or S.A.D, often occurs during a specific time or season of the year. It is most common during winter, but it sometimes occurs in summer. According to http://www.myclevelandclinic.org, some symptoms people with S.A.D experience are sadness, anxiety, lack of energy, irritability, and tiredness. Those symptoms are similar to those that individuals with depression also experience. The difference between S.A.D and depression is that depression is all year round, while S.A.D is usually only one season.
