A Light Glistens on Journalism and Communications at EHS

     With the publication of our newspaper, the W-IKE News Show and so many fun projects, the Journalism and the new Communications classes always have a lot of fun things going on behind the scenes. In this issue of The Squire, we will be highlighting these programs here at Eisenhower, and giving you a little bit of a look at what exactly we do, with some input for our amazing advisor Miss Howe and a junior who has done both Journalism and Communications, Alyssa Wismar.

H.E.A.L. Club Grows

     As some of Eisenhower’s students might have heard, on February 17, the “Snowball” took place at Warren Area High School and was sponsored by the district H.E.A.L. club. The biggest question The Squire has heard is about what they see at the bottom of the flier: H.E.A.L., what is this club? Where did it come from? How can I join? Well, The Squire is here to learn more about just that, with interviews from the club advisor, Maria Palmieri; President, Johnny Palmieri; and Vice President, Avalynne Russell.

Tipping off March Madness

     With March just around the corner, college basketball fans are looking forward to one of the biggest tournaments. The 68 teams look to finish out their regular season and have a fight in March, with gritty defense, Cinderella teams, and hopefully lots of highlight plays. Per ncaa.com, Selection Sunday will be on March 17 this year. Lots of teams have strong records and look to make an impression this March. The National Tournament allows schools with a history of success like North Carolina (UNC), Duke, and Kansas, to add to their illustrious history and gives rising programs the opportunity to make a name for themselves.
