With prom comes tough decisions about the perfect dress, perfect hair, but most importantly promposals. Promposals have started within the last decade and become more popular and more creative each year. They range from simple signs to asking with an animal. Some even have flash mobs. A promposal is a way of asking someone to prom in which a guy or girl creates a sign which could include a pun such as, “I know this is cheesy, prom?” and then for example, gives that special someone a pizza. In some cases, they don’t make a sign but instead they ask with cars, people, or even at sporting events on the scoreboard. The spotlight is shining on Kelly Glotz for this issue of the SquireNews. Although it might not be obvious at first, Kelly has become one of Eisenhower’s ambitious students. The prom hype usually comes around in the spring and towards the end of school and doesn’t leave until school is officially over. When it comes to dressing up for prom, the girls are the ones who usually take it more seriously. Girls often have strong feelings about what type of dress they want, like a two piece dress or something more traditional, and, of course the color of the dress, but that’s not to say that guys don’t care about how they look.
