With the school year coming to an end, for seniors this marks the end of their journey at Eisenhower. While this is sad, there are many exciting activities coming up for these soon to be graduates. All of the end of high school plans can feel overwhelming to keep track of, but The Squire is here to outline everything for you.
The first of many activities for the Class of 2026 is Senior Splashin’, a fun end of year game that is played victory royale style. The game assigns a target for each player to try and eliminate another senior with a water gun, however, to stay safe players can wear a pair of goggles to shield themselves. To keep up with the timeline and who is still in the game, follow the Instagram page, EHS2026seniorassassin.
Coming at the end of May is a list of many activities, and tests. Yearbooks will be handed out to seniors on their final Friday, May 15. The annual award ceremony where many seniors will earn scholarships will be Monday, May 18. The award ceremony also includes awards from faculty for grades 9-12. The very next day is the senior’s final full day of school.
However, they will be back for final exam testing May 20-22 and May 27-28. The tests are split up into am and pm exams on those days, so seniors keep in touch with your teachers to know what days to come in, and when.
Once testing is over on the 28, the seniors will be back and busy the next day for senior breakfast, elementary walkthrough, and Baccalaureate practice. These activities begin at 8am for breakfast, and the rest continues throughout the day.
Baccalaureate will take place that Sunday, May 31. Baccalaureate is a church service for seniors to bless them as they enter a new chapter. It includes music and prayers to celebrate those who choose to attend.
Tuesday June 2 will be the class trip. They will be enjoying a very long day in Hershey Park departing at 4:30am and getting back at 1:30am. The ride to Hershey is about four and a half hours from Eisenhower, but the seniors attending will be taking a coach bus there and back.
Senior sunset is planned to be June 4. To begin the year there was a senior sunrise to enter school, so having a get together with the sunset as seniors exit high school only makes sense. The sunset will likely include games, snacks, and hopefully a lot of fun as one of the last times the seniors get together in one location.
The following morning will be graduation day. All seniors are to come to Eisenhower at 10am for graduation practice and lunch with the class. Later at 6pm is the biggest event where seniors earn their diplomas and say their final goodbye to Eisenhower. Graduation is planned to be in the auditorium, and each senior is allowed four guests.
Reflecting on all of these happenings brings a realization to how much time advisors and officers put in to planning the perfect events. The Squire wants to thank the senior class advisor Shannon Linkerhof for all she does. When asked about the time put into the senior class, Mrs. Linkerhof remarked, “A lot of time goes into planning for the senior class—honestly, more than I ever thought would. From the beginning of the year, we’re organizing things like senior sunrise, fundraising, the class trip, class colors, flower, song, motto, cap and gowns, and graduation events. I’d say senior-related responsibilities take up at least one full day a week, but right now it feels like every second of every day.”
