Shining in on the Life of Alex Fincher

By: Nick Smelko

Here at Eisenhower Middle High School we have many amazing students, but, if you ask around, there’s one that truly stands out. He is the Man, the Myth, the Legend, Alexander James Fincher. Not to be confused with the kid that looks like him, his twin brother, Zack, Alex is a much fiercer competitor. Alex is in 11th grade here at EMHS, but plays all his sports at Warren Area High School. The Squire recently sat down with Alex to talk about what it’s like to be a living legend.

The Squire: What is your favorite class this year and why?
Alex Fincher: Walking for Personal Fitness because I get to heckle Mr. Black about thinking he is better than me at golf and tennis.
TS: What is your favorite part of EHS and why?
AF: Two words: the environment.
TS: Do you play any sports? How did the season(s) go this year?
AF: I play golf and tennis. In golf, we made it to team districts and lost to Cathedral Prep, and in tennis, as a team, we are in districts and I, personally, also made it to singles districts.
TS: What are your plans for the future?
AF: I am planning on going to college, but I have not yet decided a major.
TS: What do you like to do for fun?
AF: I like to golf, play tennis, and play streetball in the neighborhood.
TS: What is it like having a twin? Do people confuse you with your brother often?
AF: Awful; imagine a slightly weaker, less awesome person following you all the time. It is also annoying to have people ask which one is which all the time when I’m clearly the better twin at everything.
TS: Which twin is the better twin and why?
AF: I AM THE ALPHA TWIN! More athletic, more smart (see what I did there), better looking, the full nine yards.

Clearly, Alex Fincher is a living legend with a bright future ahead of him. Stay tuned into The Squire to learn more about the students here at Eisenhower.
