Counting Down to Christmas

By: Emily McJunkin

How do you and your family get into the Christmas spirit? Even though the weather hasn’t been very Christmas-y, there are still other things to do to get the holiday feel. You can decorate, make Christmas cookies, listen to Christmas music, and, my favorite, watch Christmas movies. ABC Family’s “Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas” is a great wat to get in the holiday spirit. It began on December 1 and continues until Christmas day, Friday, December 25. The network presents classics such as Disney’s A Christmas Carol and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. So far, they have played movies such as The Polar Express, The Santa Clause, and Jack Frost. Some upcoming movies are Elf, Prancer, and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

The Squire interviewed a fellow classmate, Kara Coffaro, to see what she looks forward to on ABC Family’s “Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas.”

The Squire: Do you watch the “Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas”?

Kara Coffaro: I DVR it. I record some of them because I’m not that much of a Christmas freak.

TS: What are some of the movies you record?

KC: Elf is a funny one. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation sounds good, except I’ve never seen it, I just heard it’s a good one.

The Squire also caught up with Jacob Hamiliton to see his opinion on ABC “Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas.”

The Squire: What do you think of the countdown to 25 days of Christmas?

JH: Oh I love the countdown! I watch it every year.

TS: What are your favorites?

JH: I don’t really have one, I like them all. I watch one every day. The Christmas Shoes is a classic.

If you’ve never experienced watching the Christmas countdown I highly recommend it. It’s a great way to get in the Christmas spirit.
