Who doesn’t like to start off the school year with a homecoming game and dance? Eisenhower’s homecoming dance was held on Saturday, October 3 in the cafeteria. The dance was carefully planned and expertly decorated by our student council members. Each year has a different theme; this year’s theme was Wizard of OZ and it didn’t disappoint. Among the decorations were cardboard cut outs of different characters from the movie, the famous yellow brick road, the house that fell on the Wicked Witch of the West, and many more “Oz” themed memorabilia. Cold weather, orange leaves, fantasy football, and caramel apple spice lattes mean that fall is here. Football teams put all their hard off-season work into effect, soccer teams get their final days of conditioning in before the first game, and cross-country begin to run their hearts out. During half time at the football game against Saegertown on October 2, a large crowd faced the intense cold and gathered around to see the crowning of the homecoming king and queen. After much anticipation, Seniors, Samara Warren and Louie Head, were officially named the 2015 homecoming queen and homecoming king under the Friday night lights. Derek Lasecki, senior at EHS, happily accepted the crown for EHS quarterback Head, while former homecoming queen, Megan Hagberg, crowned Warren. After being crowned, the royal couple and the rest of the homecoming court was taken away in a new Ford truck representing Eisenhower High School. Congratulations Louie and Samara!
