As the temperature cools, fall arrives, the leaves change, and so do the activities that come along with it. The Squire is here to bring you all the information you need to enjoy this season’s festive events.
Each fall, many people enjoy preparing for the fall season by decorating their house or landscaping. From pumpkins to haybales to scary Halloween decorations, the options are endless. They might even add interior décor, like festive pillows or fall scented candles. In addition to preparing for the season by decorating, there are also many fun seasonal events that can get you in the fall spirit.
One of the biggest Halloween/fall traditions is pumpkin carving. Millions of people carve pumpkins every year for the fall season. Some people make their jack o lanterns scary, some make it funny, and some go a completely different route of their own. It’s a very fun thing to do either on your own, or with your friends or family and almost anyone can do it. Check out Pinterest for some unique pumpkin carving ideas.
During the fall season there are also many seasonal events to go see and do. A good example of this are things like festivals, one we have around us is Port Farms. Port Farms is a fall and Halloween festival in Waterford, Pennsylvania with many different activities, ranging from games to hayrides and haunted houses. I would recommend checking out Port Farms, or similar places to them because they are fun to go to with your friends or family. Another local option with similar activities is Pumpkintown, which is in Busti, New York. At both locations, you can enjoy fall activities, including things like corn mazes, hayrides, haunted houses, pumpkin patches, and more.
The Squire interviewed Eisenhower senior, Rylan Benton, about some fall related topics to learn more about how our students get into the fall spirit. Rylan described his perfect fall day, explaining, “I like it to be a bit cooler temperature wise, around 50-65 degrees and sunny, doing something fun with my friends.” He was also asked what his favorite part about fall was, and he said, “I like the change of weather and the color of all the leaves, and I like to watch football which starts in fall every year.” Maybe this year, Rylan can add visiting Port Farms or Pumpkintown to his fall traditions. This fall, make sure to have fun and stay safe, and check all the local seasonal fun our area has to offer. The Squirethanks Benton for his time and insight.
