With the beautiful fall weather finally setting in and everyone getting into the pumpkin-spice spirit, all kinds of different festivities are beginning to pop up everywhere. Events like this bring the community together with art, music, good food, crafts and so much more. To give you more insight on what exactly some of these festivals entail, The Squire visited a few of them, and interviewed junior, Alyssa Wismar, for some further information.
From shows like Gilmore Girls, to new flavors and pumpkin spice, and the temperatures dropping, it is officially the time to switch from iced to hot coffees and teas. Among the many things to do, see, and eat around us, coffee is truly something that can always be on the menu, and that almost anyone can enjoy, whether you are a teenager enjoying the taste, or an adult needing the boost to get them ready to start the day. Or, in some cases, vice versa!
Just as the season of autumn reaches its peak, the well-known and loved celebration of Halloween rolls around. People have their costumes planned weeks in advance, adorn their houses with spooky decorations, and look forward to an evening of coming together, having fun, and receiving sweets. But as much as the holiday is anticipated and enjoyed, how much do people actually know about Halloween’s origins and its development over the several centuries it has been observed? It has a long history, with variations in purpose and ways of celebrating.
