The Super Bowl took place on February 8 and although the game was a big deal, the performances are always the biggest part of the night. With more than five different artists performing the shows featured a variety of music for all listeners.
Green Day opened the night with a performance to honor 60 years of the Super Bowl. They performed five different songs opening with one of their most popular songs “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).” They then played “Holiday” and “American Idiot” from their 2004 album American Idiot. They finished off their show with “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” in which they brought former Super Bowl MVPs (Most Valuable Players) on stage to be recognized.
Before the game, Charlie Puth sang the National Anthem. “America the Beautiful” was performed by Brani Carlile, and Coco Jones sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing” before the game.
Puerto Rican American, Bad Bunny, headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show a week after winning three Grammy Awards for Album of the Year, Best Musica Urbana Album, and Best Global Music Performance. He was also the most globally streamed artist in the world in 2025, contributing to the NFL’s (National Football League) choice to have him perform in the Halftime Show.
Bad Bunny opened the Halftime Show with “Titi Me Pregunto.” This was followed by “Yo Perreo Sola” and “Safera.” Next was “Voy a Llevarte Pa’ PR” and “EoO” which are on his recent album DeBi TiRAR MaS FOToS, which won Album of the Year this year.
Lady Gaga was the show’s first guest appearance in which she sang a part of her song with Bruno Mars “Die with a Smile” to a Salsa inspired background song. This was followed by two more songs from his award-winning album with “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” and “NUEVAYoL.” His second guest, Ricky Martin, then joined the performance to sing “LO QUE LE PASO A HAWAii.” This was followed by two more Bad Bunny songs, “El Apagon” and “CAFe CON RON.”
Before his final song of the night, Bad Bunny shared a message with the message on the big screen saying, “THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE.” While he listed the countries in the Americas and spoke “God Bless America” his only words in English which he used to help unite the Americas and stop hate. He ended the night with his most popular song and the title song of his recent album “DtMF.” Eisenhower Senior, Clara Steinberg was interviewed by The Squire and she commented, “I liked how something was always happening and the meaningful message behind the performance.”
Overall, the performances from Super Bowl LX (60) were part of the historic night and although the viewership has not yet been announced, it is sure to be record breaking. Bad Bunny’s performance is one step in the NFL’s global reach for the future.
