Gatsby Inspires 2025 Homecoming Dance

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Eisenhower Homecoming Dance took place in the cafeteria from 7 to 10 pm.

The theme of the dance was based on the novel, The Great Gatsby. It included decorations of gold and black, making the cafeteria seem like a 1920s party. There were card games for students to participate in while not dancing, just like there would have been in the Gatsby era.

Student Council worked hard to make the cafeteria the perfect place for the Homecoming Dance. They spent all school day Friday decorating and staying after school in order to ensure everything was ready for Saturday night. Some of the work they did included covering all the windows in the cafeteria, setting up speakers and sound equipment, hanging up decorations, setting up the game table, and preparing the soda bar.

The Squire interviewed Student Council Secretary, Clara Steinberg, and asked what went into planning the dance. She responded, “We separated the Student Council members into groups so we could plan the dance/homecoming festivities more efficiently. We had to buy/borrow the decorations, make a layout of where everything will go, decide games and beverages we would have, and buy good lighting. We had committees that planned the spirit days, coronation, the dance, tickets, and the speak easy.”

One highlight of the dance was the photo booth provided by Student Council. It was free to use for everyone, as students were encouraged to bring their friends and use fun props to take pictures. Everyone in the photo received a copy of the photos to hold onto as a keepsake.

Another small detail that made the night was the tickets. The tickets were sold during lunch for $15 each or $25 for a couple. Instead of receiving a regular ticket when you bought a ticket, you received a black and gold playing card with the details of the event on the back.

The highlight of the dance was, of course, the Homecoming Court introductions. Near the end of the dance, the court members were recognized. The freshman class representatives were Kylie Guiher and Parker McBride, the sophomore representatives were Sawyer Fields and Collin Montgomery, and the junior representatives were Kinzlea Chase and Rever Caudill. The senior class girl court members were Laney Belcher, Samantha Childs, Layla Edwards, Lainey Font, Haley Highhouse, and Clara Steinberg. The senior class boy court members were Ben Lindberg, Gavin Lindemuth, Greyson Linkerhof, Shawn Miller, Cash Moore, and Xavier Nichols. The 2025 Homecoming Queen and King was Clara Steinberg and Xavier Nichols.
