This edition of The Squire’s student spotlight shines on senior, Caroline Smyth. She has been busy in her time at Eisenhower, being an involved member of clubs such as National Honor Society and Captain’s Council, in addition to wearing the blue and gold as a member of the volleyball and cheerleading teams. Her impact spreads to the rest of Warren County, where she performs in many musical theatre productions in the Warren community.
The Squire sat down with Smyth to interview her and learn more about her future plans, memories, and time here at Eisenhower.
The Squire: What are your plans post-graduation?
Caroline Smyth: My future plans include going to school for a bunch of years and eventually becoming a cardiovascular surgeon. Maybe I’ll have a couple kids too, once I find the one I want to marry.
TS: Have you decided where you’ll be attending college?
Caroline: I’m not quite sure what college I am going to decide on yet, but I’ll be taking my regular classes, majoring in biology. After that, I’ll go into pre-med to eventually, after 15 years of internships and specialization, become a surgeon.
TS: What are your favorite memories from your time at Eisenhower?
Caroline: Some of my favorite memories at Eisenhower have been getting to know everyone so well, having some fun classes, Career Center, senior activities, competing in sports, and growing up in these (Eisenhower) hallways.
TS: What will you miss most about high school?
Caroline: What I’ll miss most about high school is the people I’ll be leaving behind. I’ve made so many amazing friendships and feel like a sort of older sister to a lot of people; it’s heartbreaking to leave them here.
TS: What advice do you have for underclassmen?
Caroline: Some advice for the underclassmen is, work hard until you get to where you need to be, but don’t take it too seriously; everything is going to work out!
TS: What do you like to do in your free time?
Caroline: In my free time, I love to sing and dance and participate in theater. Playing sports and listening to music are always good, too, of course.
Be on the lookout for Smyth’s future performances, where you can see her talent first-hand. The Squire would like to thank Smyth for her time in our interview and wishes her the best of luck for everything in the future.
