This year, September 23 was a very special and fun-filled day for many highschoolers at Eisenhower, as we had a Homecoming dance that was truly a ‘Knight out of this World.’ Planned by Student Council, this year’s dance was a space and galaxy theme that featured many shades of blue, pink and purple, along with many fun lights, stars, great music, and, of course, the students who were all dressed up in their best hoco attire. The Squire interviewed Student Council advisor, Mrs. Lobdell, to get a little bit more of an inside scoop as to what Homecoming is like from the planning perspective, along with a general overview of that went down on this sparkling night.
Homecoming week has become a tradition of welcoming back students to the new school year for decades now. Along with the dance and football game, there are spirit days throughout the week to build up morale amongst the student body, the election of a Homecoming court, and a pep rally to build up excitement for the weekend to come.
A new school year means new teachers, and, this year, Eisenhower has had new teachers in classrooms all around the school. For this issue’s teacher spotlight, The Squire has chosen Ms. Myschisin, our new gym teacher, to get a little bit of an insight on who she is and what she is like.
