     Prom is almost here and so are the pre-prom activities, including dining out with your prom date and/or friends. There are many restaurants in the area that can provide a perfect dinner before the big dance, including Ribs & Bones and many more.  

     The Squire interviewed senior Jaydon Chase about his ideal dinner before prom. Chase shared that his favorite place to go to before prom would be either Johnny’s Lunch or AJ Texas Hots in Jamestown, New York. Both Johnny’s and AJs are great places to go to eat if you’re looking for budget-friendly options with simple meal choices. American classics like hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries are fan favorites. Even though it isn’t the fanciest, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad place to go before the prom, as certain people like going to not as fancy places. The location of these restaurants are ideal for this year, as prom will be held in Frewsburg, NY.  

     Some people prefer certain types of food before prom, as some options are lighter and easier on the stomach for dancing all night at prom. Chase said that the best food for before prom is, “Salad because it its lighter.” Other light foods you could have include grilled chicken and baked fish. It’s always a good idea to eat something lighter before attending a dance. 

     Local restaurants don’t only include informal dinner options like AJs and Johnny’s, but also more traditional restaurants, like Ribs & Bones. Chase said going to a fancy restaurant is always a great choice, as it has the best atmosphere and usually has a quieter setting. They almost always have amazing food, which gives you the chance to talk to your date more comfortably while still enjoying a great meal. However, there is one downfall to all of these fancy restaurants which is they are more on the pricy side. Although, a higher price point might be worth it for impressing your date with a great atmosphere and delicious food.  

     Prom is a great event from beginning to end. There are so many things you can do when it comes to prom, but one big favorite is having dinner before.
