Colin Sobkowski Pulls his Way into Student Spotlight

By: Joseph Gigliotti

This winter, The Squire interviewed senior Colin Sobkowski for the Student Spotlight. Colin, a senior at Eisenhower Middle Senior High School, is a well-known student with many roles in Eisenhower sports.

As a right tackle for the Eisenhower Knights’ football team, he had a fantastic season blocking defenders and allowing quarterback Shawn Pascuzzi to launch throws downfield. He also has an important role on the basketball court, as he dominates in the paint as a power forward.

The Squire spoke with his brother, Carson Sobkowski, and we asked him what he admires about his big brother. He responded, sharing, “When he’s tired and has no will to do anything, he always does it.”

The Squire sat down with Colin and asked him some questions to help the readers of The Squire get to know him better.

The Squire: Being a part of the Eisenhower knights football team throughout your senior year, how will everything you’ve learned help you succeed through life?

Colin: I learned confidence and how to be mentally tough, which will help me through my life.

TS: Why did people start calling you “Primal” and who gave the nickname to you?

Colin: Kris Bunk gave me the nickname because a viral influencer named Liver King nicknamed his fans Primals.

TS: What are your plans for when you graduate?

Colin: I plan to go to Penn Tech college and major in architectural drafting.

TS: What has been your favorite memory at Eisenhower Middle High School?

Colin: Some of the best times have been college visits, Sheetz runs, snowy football practices, and playoff basketball practices.

TS: If you could choose your “last meal” what would it be?

Colin: My last meal would be buffalo wings with blue cheese, fish fry, Italian sub, steak, chocolate milk, chocolate milkshake, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, Sprite, and Mountain Dew.

TS: If you could only pick one game to play in gym class, what would it be?

Colin: The best gym class would be a kickball tourney, but one that takes place throughout multiple days.

With the school year ending in roughly six months, Colin looks to graduate and major in architectural drafting. He is currently playing basketball after a great career in football and is waiting for the offers to come. The Squire would like to thank Colin for his time and wishes him the best as he goes off into a bright future.
