As the holiday season approaches, and people get into the Christmas mood, some music artists are going on Christmas tours to spread the holiday cheer for all to hear. Two of these tours are produced by Grammy-winning acapella group, Pentatonix, and Billboard Music Award-winning, dancing violinist, Lindsey Stirling. While these artists have done many collabs together, these tours are not one of them. Each of these tours has an amazing setlist, along with an excellent show, composed of lights, dancing and much more. Now that you have a little background for what we will be getting into, The Squire brings you an overview of each of these tours, along with an interview with Stirling’s sister, Jennifer Campbell.
Lindsey Stirling’s “Snow Waltz Tour”
Starting on November 16, Stirling began spreading cheer with her unique, amazing tour. In the show, Stirling plays the violin and even sings a few songs while dancing, and even preforming aerial routines on an aerial hoop, trapeze, and a plethora of other things. Campbell added that, “Lindsey worked really hard on her arial routines. She is grateful to be a “seasoned professional” now. When she first started out doing this, she was terrified!” It was also stated that she got through the learning process of it by using perspective, grounding, and prayer. This show is jam-packed with all kinds of amazing lighting, choreography, costumes and of course, music. She also hosts an amazing VIP experience before the show which can include a premium reserved seat, a meet and greet with Stirling, a Q&A with Stirling, photo opportunities, exclusive merch, signed merch, early entry to the venue, an on-site experience host, VIP laminate, a showcase of Stirling’s costumes and memorabilia, along with refreshments and a merchandise shopping opportunity before general doors, depending on what package you purchase. When we asked what her favorite part about meeting her fans is, we got a response of, “Realizing that every person who likes her videos and buys ticket online (which can seem like “numbers”) are real people with their own stories and passions and unique perspectives”. While this package is an absolutely amazing experience, just being able to attend this show at all is very fun and entertaining. Campbell mentioned that, “Lindsey enjoys performing for crowds; the bigger the better!”, so be sure to check out one of her shows sometime! Stirling also creates many of her own costumes for herself, and her dancers for each tour. When we asked about Stirling’s process for creating said costumes Campbell said, “Lindsey does a lot of window shopping and tests and tries different looks before deciding on outfits for tour. This tour, she created all of the outfits herself!” As can be seen on her Tik Tok page, she does a lot of pinning, sewing, gluing, cutting, and bedazzling to make these costumes come to life. According to http://www.setlist.fm, the set list on this particular tour can include “Sleigh Ride”, “Xmas C’mon”, “Warmer in the Winter”, “Let It Snow”, “Joy to the World”, “Feliz Navidad”, “Jingle Bells”/ “Deck the Halls”/ “Frosty the Snowman”/ “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”/ “Harry Potter Theme”/ “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”/ “Jingle Bell Rock”, “O Holy Night”, “Angels We Have Heard on High”, “Crystallize”, “Snow Waltz”, “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”, “Santa Baby”, “Carol of the Bells”, “Ice Storm”, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”, “Magic”, “Crazy for Christmas”, “I Saw Three Ships”, and “Wander as I Wander”. Stirling said in a video on her Tik Tok page, where she donated to her charity The Upside Fund, that she loves to perform Joy to the World on this tour due to the choreography. Her sister also told us that her favorite song on the setlist is O Holy night due to Stirling’s connection to God. While her tour was coming to a close, she added a few international locations to her agenda, including her favorite city to perform in, Paris, France. Campbell said that Paris is her favorite because, “… It is always high energy! The crowds are awesome!” With all this being said, we are left with one question, why would she want to go on Christmas tours and write Christmas music? Well, according to Campbell, the answer to that question is, “Lindsey has always loved Christmas and listening to Christmas music”.
