From all of the options that Warren provides for dining and spending an evening out savoring good food, one of those lies on Second Avenue across from the famous fountain between Second and Pennsylvania Avenue. Wicked Warren’s is a relatively new staple in the dining world of Warren, Pennsylvania. It is mainly a bar with seating to dine in, which has its famous beer cheese on the menu. The dive provides a bar-like menu with plenty of drinks and many pizza-based options.
For Homecoming, my date, friends, and I decided to give the bar a try so we could review the restaurant for many others to gain information and potentially try it. My friends and I were hungry from taking pictures and ready with palates open to new adventure.
Everybody ordered waters except for Cricket, the odd woman out. She got herself a Starry, which she came to enjoy, but not as much as her normal Sprite. Then came the appetizers. Bruschetta and Garlic Knots were the choices from the menu, where they were labeled as “Alcohol Absorbers.” Both were beautifully presented, the bruschetta on a mini caulk board, and the garlic knots on a white plate with sauce by the buttery bits of dough.
Everybody seemed to enjoy the appetizers. Haley said that the garlic knots there are better than the bruschetta. Both Elena and Winnie stated that the garlic knots are “mid,” along with Will, who seemed to greatly enjoy the bruschetta. As for my opinion, the bruschetta was great and the tomatoes on top really gave it extra flavor. However, I did enjoy the garlic knots, as I do love myself carbohydrate-loaded foods. The appetizers were just the start of more delicious food to come.
Before mentioning the main course, I would like to give a shout out to our server. He has an incredible humor, is kind, and gets his job done. He is great with the customers and is well-suited for his job as a server and bartender.
Then came dinner. I ordered the Wicked White Pizza. While it was a little burnt on the edges, the mozzarella as the base cheese did wonders for the flavor and only got better and better with each bite. I asked Elena and Haley about their meals. Elena had the Margarita Pizza, and stated that it was rated “a six out of ten,” explaining that her pizza was a little burnt. Haley had the French Onion Soup and said her side salad was good, “especially the chicken and Italian dressing on it.” As for the soup, she believes that Ribs N’ Bones’ French Onion Soup is better, although she enjoyed the cheese on the soup.
That concluded a dinner, which was satisfying but a little expensive for six people and two appetizers. All in all, the experience is fun, and the pizza is great. It is worth giving it a try. As downtown Warren grows with new businesses, The Squire hopes Wicked will continue to be successful.
